Message from the Course Director
The Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine is pleased to welcome members of the community to our Annual Anniversary Meeting held on Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Following the tradition of successful meetings over the past few years, the Department of Ophthalmology will host a two-day meeting to highlight both vision science at Penn and ongoing clinical and research activities at the Scheie Eye Institute in 2025. The Friday program will be dedicated to basic and translational
research and Saturday will highlight clinical and research updates and will also spotlight a variety of fascinating clinical case studies that will be of appeal to practitioners in all ophthalmic disciplines.
Our keynote speakers are R.V. Paul Chan, MD, MSc, MBA, FACS, Chair, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois, delivering the 19th David M. Kozart Memorial Lecture; and Nicholas R. Mahoney, MD, Chief of the Oculoplastics Division at Johns Hopkins Medicine, delivering the 11th Honored Alumni Lecture and 4th Alan M. Laties, MD Memorial Lectureship.
