Mindfulness Meditation

The ISU Counseling and Mental Health Center offers a weekly meditation group for all members of the ISU community - students, faculty, and staff. This group offers a welcoming and supportive environment to develop mindfulness skills that can help reduce stress, enhance emotional regulation, and promote overall well-being. A trained, licensed professional leads each session and includes guided mindfulness practices such as breath awareness, walking meditation, body scans, and guided imagery.

No prior meditation experience is necessary, and no special equipment is required. Comfortable clothing is recommended. Chairs, yoga mats, and meditation cushions are provided.

Meetings are held every Friday in Graveley Hall, 2nd floor, Room 250, from 11:00 to 11:50 AM, throughout the semester. Please arrive by 11:10 AM and plan to stay until the end of the session. No RSVP is needed; drop-ins are welcome.

The Pinyon Jay Press in Pocatello, Idaho, is a collaborative venture between the Department of Communication, Media, and Persuasion, the Department of English and Philosophy, and the Department of Art. Housed in the VisComm Experimental Lab in the Liberal Arts Building of Idaho State University, it provides faculty and students the opportunity to learn the art of fine letterpress printing and to explore various forms of expression that involve image, text, or a combination of the two. Several times a year, Pinyon Jay Press holds special events such as guest lectures and workshops to promote the knowledge of letterpress printing and related fields such as typography, book design, broadside production, and visual culture in general.

"Fellowship of the Ring" plays at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday & Friday, April 30 & May 1.

Then the "Two Towers" plays at 2:00 & 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.

And "Return of the King" plays at 2:00 & 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3.

The early shows will be the original release, while the later shows will be the extended editions. Mindfulness Meditation

The ISU Counseling and Mental Health Center offers a weekly meditation group for all members of the ISU community - students, faculty, and staff. This group offers a welcoming and supportive environment to develop mindfulness skills that can help reduce stress, enhance emotional regulation, and promote overall well-being. A trained, licensed professional leads each session and includes guided mindfulness practices such as breath awareness, walking meditation, body scans, and guided imagery.

No prior meditation experience is necessary, and no special equipment is required. Comfortable clothing is recommended. Chairs, yoga mats, and meditation cushions are provided.

Meetings are held every Friday in Graveley Hall, 2nd floor, Room 250, from 11:00 to 11:50 AM, throughout the semester. Please arrive by 11:10 AM and plan to stay until the end of the session. No RSVP is needed; drop-ins are welcome.

Mindfulness Meditation

The ISU Counseling and Mental Health Center offers a weekly meditation group for all members of the ISU community - students, faculty, and staff. This group offers a welcoming and supportive environment to develop mindfulness skills that can help reduce stress, enhance emotional regulation, and promote overall well-being. A trained, licensed professional leads each session and includes guided mindfulness practices such as breath awareness, walking meditation, body scans, and guided imagery.

No prior meditation experience is necessary, and no special equipment is required. Comfortable clothing is recommended. Chairs, yoga mats, and meditation cushions are provided.

Meetings are held every Friday in Graveley Hall, 2nd floor, Room 250, from 11:00 to 11:50 AM, throughout the semester. Please arrive by 11:10 AM and plan to stay until the end of the session. No RSVP is needed; drop-ins are welcome.

March Through the Arch

Each fall, new students pass through the Swanson Arch, the original entrance to ISU’s first building to campus in a spirited ceremony. In May and December, graduates look to the future by passing back through the arch away from campus. This symbolizes entering the campus as new students and exiting as Bengal alumni.

Graduation Rehearsal

The Lower Owyhee from the Rome boat launch to Birch Creek takeout is a rare wilderness experience that few get to encounter. The Owyhee Canyon offers spectacular cliffs, whitewater rapids, and camping. At this time of year, water levels are usually low, and inflatable kayaks can be used to navigate down the river corridor. If water levels permit, we will use rafts to travel down the river.

You are responsible for your own food and camping equipment. Rentals and purchasing options are available at the OAC. Trip fees cover transportation, permits, and boat rental.
