As part of the festivities, iconic monuments around the world will be lit up in red, white and blue from July 1-4 to mark this milestone. Given the unwavering U.S.-QLD bond since World War II, it is one that will only strengthen in the lead up to LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032.

This year, we celebrate 50 years of celebrateing our fellow Queenslanders and Australians impacted by adoption. Everyone's lives are impacted by adoption. At the height of the forced adoption era in the early 1970's over 150,000 babies were placed for adoption. Jigsaw Queensland continue to provide celebrate and reunite adult children with their mothers and fathers and families. We are proudly the only adoption member driven, trauma informed government funded charity in Australia.

For 50 years, Special Olympics Australia has been part of a global movement improving inclusion through sport for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. We believe sport can do more than inspire - it can shift culture, shape policies, change behaviours and change the way the world sees ability. All year round, we deliver Olympic-type sports training and competitions for children and adults of all ages and ability levels - from weekly local grassroots activities, to State, National and World Games. But our impact goes far beyond sport. We break down barriers, ignite confidence and build communities. We are a movement where no one is left behind, and everyone plays, competes, and thrives. As we celebrate 50 years of Special Olympics in Australia, on July 20 during the Special Olympics Global Week of Inclusion, landmarks and iconic buildings around the world will turn RED in a global display of unity. It's a worldwide demonstration of tolerance, respect and celebration of people of all abilities. World Fragile X Day 2026

World Fragile X Day on 22 July each year seeks to raise awareness of Fragile X syndrome, and to recognise and celebrate people living with Fragile X syndrome. Fragile X syndrome is a genetic inherited condition causing development delays and intellectual disability - it affects learning, communication and behaviours. The Fragile X light up program began in Brisbane in 2016 and it's very fitting for Brisbane to lead the way for the program. The Brisbane-based families with children or adults living with Fragile X syndrome sincerely appreciate the special recognition for the condition.

Queensland Ranger Association connects people working in protected area management (National Parks) and wildlife conservation (rangers, wildlife rangers) across Queensland. We provide networking, upskilling and sponsorship to various events nationally and internationally. We raise awareness for fallen Rangers in Oceania and supported by global foundations, like the Thin Green Line and International Ranger Federation. We have members from Department of Environment, Great Barrier Reef Authority, local land councils as well as First Nations Land & Sea Ranger Organisations. The annual World Ranger Day on July 31st raises awareness each year to reflect on sacrifices and lives lost by rangers around the world, and Australia. It is also a day to celebrate the incredible work that rangers, wildlife rangers do in national parks and with biodiversity conservation to protect Queensland and the world's natural treasures and cultural heritage.
