City Hall will be lit Orange to support World Fragile X Day 2026

World Fragile X Day on 22 July each year seeks to raise awareness of Fragile X syndrome, and to recognise and celebrate people living with Fragile X syndrome. Fragile X syndrome is a genetic inherited condition causing development delays and intellectual disability - it affects learning, communication and behaviours. The Fragile X light up program began in Brisbane in 2016 and it's very fitting for Brisbane to lead the way for the program. The Brisbane-based families with children or adults living with Fragile X syndrome sincerely appreciate the special recognition for the condition.

City Hall will be lit in Olympic colours as we celebrate 6 years until the opening of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This light up symbolises the city’s embracing of the Games through industry iniatiatives like The Brisbane Collective ensuring we maximise the benefits of hosting the Games.

23 July 2026 marks 6 years to the start of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games, and the start of the Commonwealth Games Glascow 2026, taking place from 23 July 2026 to 2 August 2026. The Australian Commonwealth Games Team is set to be unstoppable at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and we'll be cheering them on as they build on success towards Brisbane 2032.
