Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art is thrilled to announce eminent American painter Janet Fish’s first solo exhibition in the country in which she was raised, Bermuda. This exhibition, which opens to the public on November 15, 2025, is an important survey which will investigate Fish’s particular approach to still life as well as the intersections between her life and painting practice.

Fish has frequently connected her artistic style and vision to her childhood experiences in Bermuda, where she lived from the age of 10. Her grandfather, American Impressionist Clark Greenwood Voorhees, was central to the American artistic community in Bermuda in the early twentieth century while her mother, painter and sculptor Florence Whistler Fish, also had personal and career ties to the island. Fish therefore grew up surrounded not just by the beauty of this isolated Atlantic archipelago but also the splendour of its art and culture, influences which she carried into her career as a professional artist.

"Janet Fish: Place in Time" will highlight the resonances of this, particularly in the rarely acknowledged but ubiquitous presence of subtropical colors, light and iconography throughout her art. Her enchanting still life paintings, which often include colourful textiles, tropical fruits and flowers and scattered seashells, have tantalising connections to diverse subtropical settings and climates; while Bermuda’s dense, layered environment has often been cited by Fish as an influence on her compositions. By highlighting these and other biographical considerations, Janet Fish: Place in Time will not only introduce audiences to this important painter but also show the role of place, time and personal experience in the work of an artist often regarded through a purely formal lens.

"Janet Fish: Place in Time" is organised by Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art in close collaboration with the artist and DC Moore Gallery. International curator Melissa Messina will co-curate the exhibition alongside Masterworks’ Curatorial Researcher Dr Sara Thom.

Come As You Are: The Sapphire Veil

Devilʼs Hole Grotto

Join Skye for a Sound bowl offering at Devils Hole Grotto; an almost landlocked lagoon. Devils Hole was Bermuda's first natural aquarium, connected to the ocean by a tidal underwater passage.

The Sapphire Veil is a space to receive soft vibrations from Sound Bowls while we watch the sky shift into dusk, as the moon and stars rise. We will listen to the natural frequencies of Crystal Singing bowls and nature's orchestra of tree frogs and crickets.

Come to visit the ancient turtles that glide amongst the tides, and enjoy some tea and turtle feeding around the lagoon as darkness falls over this beautiful space.

What are Sound Bowls?:
Singing bowls are sound healing instruments; made from quartz crystal (heated at high temperatures to form a bowl) or made from metals such as bronze or brass. Crystal singing bowls emit a clear and resonant sound that carries smoothly over water and metal bowls are used commonly in body work.

Quartz has piezoelectric properties, meaning it can transform energy and vibrates in a very stable, precise way (this is why it’s used in watches and electronics). This stability is believed to enhance the effectiveness of sound healing.

When the bowls are struck or played with a mallet around the rim, they produce a sustained, vibrating tone. The sound can be felt in the body as vibration.

The vibrations support us in:
Balancing energy
Calming the nervous system
Promoting relaxation through slowing brain waves and Theta states.

Location: Devils Hole Lagoon (92 Harrington Sound Rd, Smiths, Bermuda)
Parking is on the first right up Devils Hole Hill. You will enter the Lagoon via the white door from the parking lot.

What should I expect?:
This sessions time is 6-7:45pm. Doors will be open for entry at 5:50 and will lock by 6:10. Please be on time or slightly early to respect everyone's time and energy.

You will be greeted and invited into the Lagoon to observe the turtles and find a spot on the surrounding land. You will have time to move around and get comfortable before we sink into the space and receive some sound therapy.

After an hour of sound bowls, the underwater lights will illuminate the space! You will be invited to have warm tea and join in feeding the turtles dinner.

Notes for the experience:
Please wear something cooling, comfortable and lightweight.
This experience will take place on the land and bridges surrounding the Devils Hole Grotto. We will not be swimming or floating in the lagoon, out of respect for our Green Turtles and their space!

What do I bring?
It is recommended for you to bring any items you need to stay comfortable.
A pillow (or 2)
A Towel, Blanket and Supportive Yoga Mat
Wear comfortable clothes, and bring an extra sweater. We are outdoors and it's getting chilly!

Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art is thrilled to announce eminent American painter Janet Fish’s first solo exhibition in the country in which she was raised, Bermuda. This exhibition, which opens to the public on November 15, 2025, is an important survey which will investigate Fish’s particular approach to still life as well as the intersections between her life and painting practice.

Fish has frequently connected her artistic style and vision to her childhood experiences in Bermuda, where she lived from the age of 10. Her grandfather, American Impressionist Clark Greenwood Voorhees, was central to the American artistic community in Bermuda in the early twentieth century while her mother, painter and sculptor Florence Whistler Fish, also had personal and career ties to the island. Fish therefore grew up surrounded not just by the beauty of this isolated Atlantic archipelago but also the splendour of its art and culture, influences which she carried into her career as a professional artist.

"Janet Fish: Place in Time" will highlight the resonances of this, particularly in the rarely acknowledged but ubiquitous presence of subtropical colors, light and iconography throughout her art. Her enchanting still life paintings, which often include colourful textiles, tropical fruits and flowers and scattered seashells, have tantalising connections to diverse subtropical settings and climates; while Bermuda’s dense, layered environment has often been cited by Fish as an influence on her compositions. By highlighting these and other biographical considerations, Janet Fish: Place in Time will not only introduce audiences to this important painter but also show the role of place, time and personal experience in the work of an artist often regarded through a purely formal lens.

"Janet Fish: Place in Time" is organised by Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art in close collaboration with the artist and DC Moore Gallery. International curator Melissa Messina will co-curate the exhibition alongside Masterworks’ Curatorial Researcher Dr Sara Thom.

Come As You Are: The Sapphire Veil

Devilʼs Hole Grotto

Join Skye for a Sound bowl offering at Devils Hole Grotto; an almost landlocked lagoon. Devils Hole was Bermuda's first natural aquarium, connected to the ocean by a tidal underwater passage.

The Sapphire Veil is a space to receive soft vibrations from Sound Bowls while we watch the sky shift into dusk, as the moon and stars rise. We will listen to the natural frequencies of Crystal Singing bowls and nature's orchestra of tree frogs and crickets.

Come to visit the ancient turtles that glide amongst the tides, and enjoy some tea and turtle feeding around the lagoon as darkness falls over this beautiful space.

What are Sound Bowls?:
Singing bowls are sound healing instruments; made from quartz crystal (heated at high temperatures to form a bowl) or made from metals such as bronze or brass. Crystal singing bowls emit a clear and resonant sound that carries smoothly over water and metal bowls are used commonly in body work.

Quartz has piezoelectric properties, meaning it can transform energy and vibrates in a very stable, precise way (this is why it’s used in watches and electronics). This stability is believed to enhance the effectiveness of sound healing.

When the bowls are struck or played with a mallet around the rim, they produce a sustained, vibrating tone. The sound can be felt in the body as vibration.

The vibrations support us in:
Balancing energy
Calming the nervous system
Promoting relaxation through slowing brain waves and Theta states.

Location: Devils Hole Lagoon (92 Harrington Sound Rd, Smiths, Bermuda)
Parking is on the first right up Devils Hole Hill. You will enter the Lagoon via the white door from the parking lot.

What should I expect?:
This sessions time is 6-7:45pm. Doors will be open for entry at 5:50 and will lock by 6:10. Please be on time or slightly early to respect everyone's time and energy.

You will be greeted and invited into the Lagoon to observe the turtles and find a spot on the surrounding land. You will have time to move around and get comfortable before we sink into the space and receive some sound therapy.

After an hour of sound bowls, the underwater lights will illuminate the space! You will be invited to have warm tea and join in feeding the turtles dinner.

Notes for the experience:
Please wear something cooling, comfortable and lightweight.
This experience will take place on the land and bridges surrounding the Devils Hole Grotto. We will not be swimming or floating in the lagoon, out of respect for our Green Turtles and their space!

What do I bring?
It is recommended for you to bring any items you need to stay comfortable.
A pillow (or 2)
A Towel, Blanket and Supportive Yoga Mat
Wear comfortable clothes, and bring an extra sweater. We are outdoors and it's getting chilly!

Come As You Are: The Sapphire Veil

Devilʼs Hole Grotto

Join Skye for a Sound bowl offering at Devils Hole Grotto; an almost landlocked lagoon. Devils Hole was Bermuda's first natural aquarium, connected to the ocean by a tidal underwater passage.

The Sapphire Veil is a space to receive soft vibrations from Sound Bowls while we watch the sky shift into dusk, as the moon and stars rise. We will listen to the natural frequencies of Crystal Singing bowls and nature's orchestra of tree frogs and crickets.

Come to visit the ancient turtles that glide amongst the tides, and enjoy some tea and turtle feeding around the lagoon as darkness falls over this beautiful space.

What are Sound Bowls?:
Singing bowls are sound healing instruments; made from quartz crystal (heated at high temperatures to form a bowl) or made from metals such as bronze or brass. Crystal singing bowls emit a clear and resonant sound that carries smoothly over water and metal bowls are used commonly in body work.

Quartz has piezoelectric properties, meaning it can transform energy and vibrates in a very stable, precise way (this is why it’s used in watches and electronics). This stability is believed to enhance the effectiveness of sound healing.

When the bowls are struck or played with a mallet around the rim, they produce a sustained, vibrating tone. The sound can be felt in the body as vibration.

The vibrations support us in:
Balancing energy
Calming the nervous system
Promoting relaxation through slowing brain waves and Theta states.

Location: Devils Hole Lagoon (92 Harrington Sound Rd, Smiths, Bermuda)
Parking is on the first right up Devils Hole Hill. You will enter the Lagoon via the white door from the parking lot.

What should I expect?:
This sessions time is 6-7:45pm. Doors will be open for entry at 5:50 and will lock by 6:10. Please be on time or slightly early to respect everyone's time and energy.

You will be greeted and invited into the Lagoon to observe the turtles and find a spot on the surrounding land. You will have time to move around and get comfortable before we sink into the space and receive some sound therapy.

After an hour of sound bowls, the underwater lights will illuminate the space! You will be invited to have warm tea and join in feeding the turtles dinner.

Notes for the experience:
Please wear something cooling, comfortable and lightweight.
This experience will take place on the land and bridges surrounding the Devils Hole Grotto. We will not be swimming or floating in the lagoon, out of respect for our Green Turtles and their space!

What do I bring?
It is recommended for you to bring any items you need to stay comfortable.
A pillow (or 2)
A Towel, Blanket and Supportive Yoga Mat
Wear comfortable clothes, and bring an extra sweater. We are outdoors and it's getting chilly!

Come As You Are: The Sapphire Veil

Devilʼs Hole Grotto

Join Skye for a Sound bowl offering at Devils Hole Grotto; an almost landlocked lagoon. Devils Hole was Bermuda's first natural aquarium, connected to the ocean by a tidal underwater passage.

The Sapphire Veil is a space to receive soft vibrations from Sound Bowls while we watch the sky shift into dusk, as the moon and stars rise. We will listen to the natural frequencies of Crystal Singing bowls and nature's orchestra of tree frogs and crickets.

Come to visit the ancient turtles that glide amongst the tides, and enjoy some tea and turtle feeding around the lagoon as darkness falls over this beautiful space.

What are Sound Bowls?:
Singing bowls are sound healing instruments; made from quartz crystal (heated at high temperatures to form a bowl) or made from metals such as bronze or brass. Crystal singing bowls emit a clear and resonant sound that carries smoothly over water and metal bowls are used commonly in body work.

Quartz has piezoelectric properties, meaning it can transform energy and vibrates in a very stable, precise way (this is why it’s used in watches and electronics). This stability is believed to enhance the effectiveness of sound healing.

When the bowls are struck or played with a mallet around the rim, they produce a sustained, vibrating tone. The sound can be felt in the body as vibration.

The vibrations support us in:
Balancing energy
Calming the nervous system
Promoting relaxation through slowing brain waves and Theta states.

Location: Devils Hole Lagoon (92 Harrington Sound Rd, Smiths, Bermuda)
Parking is on the first right up Devils Hole Hill. You will enter the Lagoon via the white door from the parking lot.

What should I expect?:
This sessions time is 6-7:45pm. Doors will be open for entry at 5:50 and will lock by 6:10. Please be on time or slightly early to respect everyone's time and energy.

You will be greeted and invited into the Lagoon to observe the turtles and find a spot on the surrounding land. You will have time to move around and get comfortable before we sink into the space and receive some sound therapy.

After an hour of sound bowls, the underwater lights will illuminate the space! You will be invited to have warm tea and join in feeding the turtles dinner.

Notes for the experience:
Please wear something cooling, comfortable and lightweight.
This experience will take place on the land and bridges surrounding the Devils Hole Grotto. We will not be swimming or floating in the lagoon, out of respect for our Green Turtles and their space!

What do I bring?
It is recommended for you to bring any items you need to stay comfortable.
A pillow (or 2)
A Towel, Blanket and Supportive Yoga Mat
Wear comfortable clothes, and bring an extra sweater. We are outdoors and it's getting chilly!
Water to drink
A mug for hot tea

If we need to cancel due to weather, you will be contacted and given the option to reschedule your session at no extra cost.
If rescheduling isn’t possible, we’ll provide a full refund.
We’ll do our best to notify you at least 2 hours in advance if weather conditions require cancellation.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled experience to receive a full refund.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are not eligible for a refund, as your space has already been reserved.
