| | Description | Art talk on the Danish-Vietnamese artist and quicksilver conceptualist DANH VO, whose artworks will fill the ramps of the Guggenheim's rotunda from February to May 2018. Vo was awarded the Hugo Boss Prize in 2012. Lecture by Marianne Torp, chief curator of the National Gallery of Denmark. Vo was born in Vietnam in 1975; his family fled by boat and relocated in Copenhagen, after being rescued at sea by a Danish freighter. Vo's artwork focusses on the European and US influences in SE Asia and Latin America and "the tiny diasporas of a person's life." Reception will follow lecture. |
