Description | Susan Jane Walp speaks about her work. Susan Jane Walp graduated from Mount Holyoke College and continued her studies at the New York Studio School, Skowhegan, and Brooklyn College’s MFA Program. She has been awarded Fellowships in Painting from the Guggenheim and Bogliasco Foundations. In 2009, she was a recipient of an Academy Award in Art form the American Academy of Arts & Letters. In that same year, she was elected to membership in the National Academy Museum in New York City. In 2017, she was Artist-in-Residence at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Her work is represented by the Tibor de Nagy Gallery, where she recently had her sixth solo exhibition. She has lived on a dirt road in northern Vermont since 1985.
