7pm: live auction begins 8pm: silent auction closes + announcements of artist / student pairings Strange Coupling has been a student-run tradition in the School's Division of Art since 2002. It brings together the UW and the greater Seattle art community by pairing students with professional artists for a collaborative project. Strange Coupling creates opportunities for mentorship, allows space for experimentation, and challenges participants to work with a creative partner whose practice differs from their own.An exhibition and silent auction of work by student applicants takes place in the Jacob Lawrence Gallery March 27–29. Pieces donated by faculty and past Strange Coupling participants will also be on view during that time, but they will only be available for bidding during the live auction.
