Non-compliance, aggression, and eloping can get in the way of everyday activities from going out into the community to learning in school. Understanding how factors in our environment can increase or decrease challenging behaviors is important. In this workshop, participants will learn: •How to determine the function of a behavior •To understand challenging behaviors in students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) •Common motivations or functions of engaging in challenging behaviors •How to identify and teach replacement behaviors •Strategies to prevent and react to behaviors Who should attend?
