The 3nd Northwest Conference on Japanese Pedagogy will be held at the University of Washington on May 12-13, 2018. The conference theme is “Content Based Language Instruction (CBLI): Implementation and Effectiveness 「CBLI: 実践と効果」” and a keynote speaker has been invited to give a talk in this theme. The rest of the conference will include individual paper presentations on any area of Japanese pedagogy. The conference is open to college-level and secondary school teachers. Masako O. Douglas is Professor of Japanese, and Coordinator of Japanese Program at California State University, Long Beach. Her primary research is in curriculum design and instructional effectiveness of Content-Based Language Instruction (CBLI) and Project Based Language Learning (PBLL) approach, and literacy development of young and adult learners of Japanese as a foreign/heritage language.
