Welcome Day introduces the UW Employee Benefits package, including retirement plan options, and assists employees with their benefits selections. Since most enrollment deadlines fall within 31 days of an employee’s eligibility date, you are urged to attend Welcome Day during your first few weeks of employment.

At Welcome Day, you will also learn about the University mission, vision, culture and organizational structure; the ethics and responsibilities of being a public employee; and the amenities and programs available exclusively for UW employees. In addition, union-represented employees also have the opportunity to talk with union representatives from SEIU 925 and WFSE.

NOTE: Academic Personnel, the medical centers, UW Bothell and UW Tacoma host their own orientations; employees may attend Welcome Day in its entirety or simply attend the benefits portion starting at 10:30 (registration is still required).
