Description | Tours are FREE but require an RSVP (limited to 20 individuals per tour). RSVP here. Join us for a free tour of the extraordinary art across the University of Washington campus! Art History graduate student Juan Franco will lead a dynamic tour of some of the highlights of the expansive collection of art on campus that includes luminaries such as Barnett Newman, Jacob Lawrence, Robert Irwin, Alexis Rockman, and many others. Juan Franco is an artist, organizer, and educator. They work in a multidisciplinary practice combining photography, performance, and collage to create works that investigate representations of intimacy, the queer body, and built environments. Franco is dedicated to creating and nourishing cultural practices through the lens of social justice, equity, and liberation politics. They are particularly interested in dismantling institutional processes in Contemporary Art that perpetuate white supremacy, capitalism, and colonialism. |
