Speaker: Michelle Sabo, MD, PhD Title: Analysis of the association between vaginal washing and changes in vaginal microbiota using broad range polymerase chain reaction with 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing Michelle C. Sabo, MD, PhD is an Acting Instructor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, at the University of Washington. She received her MD and a PhD in immunology at Washington University in Saint Louis. Her thesis work focused on the molecular mechanisms of antibody-mediated neutralization of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). Michelle completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Washington. She currently studies the vaginal microbiome under the mentorship of Dr. Scott McClelland and recently received a career development award to study how vaginal microbiota influence recruitment and activation of cervical dendritic cells. |
