Lecture by Josh Shepperd (Library of Congress and Catholic University) In this talk, Dr. Shepperd describes current discourses between academic, federal, and philanthropic sectors at the Library of Congress National Recording Preservation Board. He looks at how the logistics of historical memory work are changing under recent Music Modernization Act legislation and will also discuss how sound preservation initiatives are contributing to historiographical debates in critical archival studies.
