Description | Dr. Christopher McLeod is an associate professor and co-director of the Partnership for Work, Health and Safety at the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and a scientist at the Institute for Work & Health in Toronto. His research focuses on the program and policy evaluation of occupational health policies and practices and on the causes and consequences of work-related injury and disease. He is currently conducting a pan-Canadian study that focuses on improving return to work after work injury in the construction sector. Other areas of research include an evaluation of workplace violence prevention programs in the healthcare sector; an assessment of the effectiveness of occupational health and safety management systems; and national and international comparative work within Canada and with Australia and New Zealand. Dr. McLeod holds a PhD in population and public health from UBC and a MA in economics from McMaster University and is supported through a Canadian Institutes of Health Research New Investigator Award and a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar Award. |
