Description | Speaker: Lagat Harison, MPH Title: Acceptability and uptake of Assisted Partner Services among Adolescent Girls and Young Women Aged 15 to 24 Years in Western Kenya Lagat Harison is an aspiring nurse-scientist from Kenya. He holds a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology and Population Health from Maseno University, Kenya, and a Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) and is licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) as a Registered Nurse. He has research coordination experience of more than 6 years and has been involved in large-scale implementation science projects, cross-sectional surveys, and randomized controlled trials in Western Kenya conducted by collaborative research teams comprised of scientists from Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California and San Francisco (UCSF), FACES, UW’s Kenya Research Training Center (KRTC), and the University of Washington over the past several years. Currently, Harison is a Research Coordinator in an ongoing large-scale implementation science project in Western Kenya seeking to scale up assisted partner notification to HIV test and treat men in Western Kenya. He also serves as a co-investigator for a study seeking to evaluate effectiveness of integrating HIV self-testing into assisted partner notification services in response to COVID restrictions. |
