He is actively involved in chromatography consumables R&D. Christopher joined Dionex now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific in 1979 where the focus of his work has been new stationary phase design. He is an author or co-author of 92 US patents, along with numerous foreign equivalents, in a number of areas including separation methods, stationary phase design, suppressor technology, solid phase extraction, capillary electrophoresis techniques and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE). He is the author or co-author of 10 book chapters and more than 135 scientific papers published in scientific journals. He earned a BS in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Washington in 1973. He received the International Ion Chromatography Symposium Award in 1990 in recognition of outstanding contributions in developing the methodology of ion chromatography. He received the Uwe Neue Award and the Eastern Analytical Symposium Separation Science Award in 2018 in recognition of his contributions to separation science. |
