Description | In light of the public health advisories on social distancing, this event has been postponed until next year's speaker series. I will outline a five year study examining court sentencing of monetary sanctions, or fines of fees. Along with seven collaborators and a number of research assistants we have collected over 900 interviews and surveys, 1,600 hours of court observations in the form of observation sheets and field notes, and individual court automated data. My talk will discuss how our team approached structuring our research protocols, our coding schemas, and analyses and how we are collaboratively developing academic papers from this project. |
