Description | Speaker: Cyrus Mugo, MBChB, MPH, PhD Student Title: Adolescent HIV Viral Load Monitoring Optimization Study (PIMA Study) Cyrus Mugo is a physician and epidemiologist affiliated to the Kenyatta National Hospital, and a PhD student at the Department of Epidemiology, University of Washington. His research is focused on improving health outcomes for children and adolescents living with HIV. He has over the last 10 years led the implementation of a series of pediatric and adolescent studies across the HIV care continuum, including pediatric index case testing, neurodevelopment, and implementation science projects on quality improvement of health systems, training of frontline healthcare workers, developing tools on disclosure and transition of adolescents to adult care. He is the Principal Investigator of the PIMA study that aims to identify and address gaps in the HIV viral load monitoring cascade for children and adolescents in Nairobi. |
