3 Mondays, 10am-12:30pm, July 27-August 10, 2020 Capture the beauty of your garden and surrounding areas with ink and watercolor washes in this online, 3-part interactive class. Working from photos and real life, using portable materials you will learn how to “travel light” in order to sketch intimate and broader views. Beginning with fun warm-up exercises you will be guided in an intuitive approach to sketching with pen, layering watercolor washes, and gathering tips for working outdoors. Photos featured from the UW Botanic Gardens plant collections at the Center for Urban Horticulture and Washington Park Arboretum will be introduced for inspiration. All levels welcome. This class will be especially beneficial to those who want to document their own gardens or nature close to home. Class size is kept small to give you lots of personal attention. A simple supply list is available at registration. Instructor Lisa Snow Lady has a BFA in painting from the University of Washington, and a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Edmonds Community College and has been has been sketching and painting for over 20 years.
