This week, a panel of experts will discuss challenges related to development of a COVID-19 vaccine, including potential timelines, as well as give an overview of the work they’re each conducting. Panelists:
- Larry Corey, former Fred Hutch president and director who heads the operations center for the COVID-19 Prevention Network, a collaboration formed by Anthony Fauci to manage multiple large-scale clinical trials of coronavirus vaccines.
- Jim Kublin, executive director of the Hutch-based COVID-19 operations program, is a clinical professor in the UW Department of Global Health, principal staff scientist in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutch and executive director of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network.
- Deborah Fuller, a professor of microbiology at the UW School of Medicine whose lab has been the site of development of a vaccine candidate.
- William Hahn, an infectious disease specialist and clinical instructor in the Allergy and Infectious Disease Division at the UW School of Medicine.
