The Whole U and UW Counseling Center invite you to join Dr. Andrea Salazar for an hour Zoom workshop on Thursday, August 6 discussing the embodiment of and trauma from anti-blackness experienced by Black and Brown persons. Living in U.S. society, we internalize messages of anti-blackness which live in our minds and bodies. This workshop will explore and challenge those messages in an experiential way. We will use concepts from Resmaa Menakem’s book, My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies. This workshop is created for those experiencing anti-blackness in society and will incorporate group discussion. |
