The UW-IT Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Community of Practice invites you to join us for a DEI conversation on Personal Accountability and Actions We Can Take to Change the Culture in the IT Workplace. This is an opportunity to continue the conversation on this topic from our July #BlackLivesMatter conversations and invite new people to join in! These conversations will be facilitated and are intended to be a place where people can share their thoughts in an inclusive, safe space, and offer ideas on what actions we can take in our professions to promote equity and inclusion and work to dismantle systemic racism. Here’s what you can expect from this 1 hour session: At 12 p.m., please join us at washington.zoom.us… where we will all meet together to review our code of conduct and introduce the topic. At 12:10 p.m. you will be moved to a peer-facilitated breakout session with a maximum of 10 people to discuss the topic and wrap up at 12:55 p.m. within your group. Bring your questions and ideas, and be open to experiencing some discomfort, respectfully challenging one another, and sharing the space. We encourage you to continue the conversation in our Microsoft Teams channel afterward. |
