Description | The UW School of Public Health calls attention to the problem of police violence as a social determinant of health. We examine the local evidence from plaintiffs injured by police in the Black Lives Matter protests during the summer of 2020, and consider the range of weaponry and their health effects. Injuries include penetration wounds, brain injuries, reproductive health effects and compromised mental health. Speakers will also discuss available preventive measures.
