Description | As helping professionals, we all want to be accepting of autistic people, but may not know how to best help them feel accepted. In this presentation you will learn the ways in which the neurodiversity movement has worked to build an empowering approach to autism and disability in general. Participants will be able to identify views and goals of the neurodiversity movement, recognize their own assumptions about autism and disability, and think creatively about ways that neurodiversity principles can be applied to their work.
