Trip date/time: 10/10, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. One day of kayaking on protected local waterways. Experience Level: Beginner - Advanced; Physical Challenge: Moderate **THIS COURSE IS FOR STUDENTS ONLY** In this uniquely Seattle experience, you will start right here on the UW campus by climbing into a sea kayak and paddling through the Montlake Cut into Lake Union. Along the way, You'll see the beautiful floating homes on Lake Union and the sweeping skyline of Seattle from a unique vantage point. we'll then paddle to (and through) the Ballard Locks. After the Locks, we'll go onto Golden Gardens where we'll swap our kayaks for bikes to ride the Burke Gilman Trail back to campus. There is no other city (or university) where you can have this unique experience. Don't miss this one! We will practice in a socially distant manner, masks required. This class is limited to group sizes of 6 at this time and pre-registration online is required. This course will take place in one of Seattle’s local waterways where we will spend the day paddling and enjoying our beautiful city from a new vantage point. This course will go rain or shine unless there are unsafe conditions as dictated by UWild Manager or Director. FOOD IS NOT PROVIDED on this course. Prerequisites: None Minimum skills required (you may be asked to perform one or all of the skills listed below prior to participation): - Ability to Swim

- Ability to ride a bike
Cost: Students: $40What to bring: - Lunch and snacks
- Swimsuit and towel
- Extra Layers (warm hat, gloves/mittens, warm long sleeves)
- Clothes to change it for the bike ride
- Your Bike (if you have one, otherwise UWild can provide)
- Your Bike Helmet (if you have one, otherwise UWild can provide)
- 2 liters of water
- Camera - Ideally Waterproof (optional)
UWild will provide: - Kayak and other essential kayaking equipment
- Dry suit (dependent on conditions)
- Bike and Helmet (if needed)
- Instruction
- Transportation of bicycles
- Camera (photos will be shared after the course)
- Locker rooms and showers onsite
