In-person meetings: Sunday, Oct. 17; Saturday Oct 30; Sunday Nov. 7; Sunday Nov. 21 (all day) Join UWild’s field program manager in this series to go over the essential sea kayaking skills to become a UWild sea kayaking instructor or to learn essential paddling skills. In this course, we will discuss and learn about basic kayak outfitting, paddling techniques, group management, and perform advanced sea kayaking skills. No previous sea kayaking experience is required but participants must be able to swim. This course consists of three virtual learning modules and four full days of in-person instruction over the course of the quarter. (Completion of this course does not guarantee the opportunity to work as a UWild sea kayaking instructor.) Equipment list and specific paddling destinations will be discussed at a virtual meeting after registration has closed prior to the first in-person meeting. Masks are required for all in-person meetings Course completion requires attendance at all dates. Virtual learning modules: Pre-recorded and available each week.
