Description | UW's Molecular Engineering Materials Center (MEM-C) is inviting everyone to attend the first-ever science SLAM on Friday, January 28th hosted by NSF Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC)! More Details: - There will be nearly 20 slams that day with each MRSEC participating!
- Each slam will be approx. 5 min followed by 5 min of Q&A from the audience.
- The audience will vote for the best slam at the end of the event.
- And in case you’re wondering, from the MRSEC team: A Science Slam is a scientific talk where scientists present their own scientific research work in a given time frame (5 minutes for the MRSEC Science Slam) to a non-expert audience. The focus lies on teaching MRSEC science to a diverse audience in an entertaining way (i.e., make it fun, speak in layperson’s terms, be creative, feel free to use art, music, dance, props, etc.).
