The Feral Atlas website (co-edited by Anna Tsing, Jennifer Deger, Alder Keleman Saxena, and Feifei Zhou) is a digital-humanities feat. With astonishing artistry and scholarship, it leads visitors through scenarios in which the environments of humans and non humans entangle. Through winding digital paths, it reveals the myriad effects of industrialization and capitalism on Earth. Two co-editors of the Feral Atlas, Jennifer Deger and Dr. Alder Keleman Saxena, will be at this event to talk about how such a complex digital-humanities project came to be as well what’s next. Speaker Bios: Jennifer Deger is Professor of Digital Humanities and Founding Director of the new Centre for Creative Futures at Charles Darwin University. She works at the intersection of art, anthropology and environmental studies. She is also a member of the award winning digital arts collective Miyarrka Media. Dr. Alder Keleman Saxena is at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ, and currently holds a position at the Christian Michelsen Institute in Bergen, Norway. She is an environmental anthropologist whose research explores the relationships linking agricultural biodiversity to food culture and nutritional health in the Bolivian Andes.
