About the Speaker: Shanise is a PhD candidate at the University of Washington, School of Public Health in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health. Her research examines the impact of socio-economic and spatial determinants of health on physical, reproductive, behavioral and mental health disparities in disadvantaged/underserved populations. Shanise is also a child and family psychotherapist with a passion for serving marginalized communities to promote mental health and wellness. She holds a bachelor’s in child adolescent development, two master’s degrees in clinical psychology and global mental health. |
