Abstract: Blue Origin is a privately funded aerospace manufacturer and space flight services company developing technologies to enable safe and reliable human access to space. Driven by our company motto, Gradatim Ferociter or “step by step, ferociously,” our incremental development process builds upon each success as we develop groundbreaking spaceflight systems. But we don’t just build rockets – we build a culture around methodical innovation and exploration. We will discuss the path towards millions of people living and working in space and the technologies and people who are making it happen. Bio: Justin Brynestad is Program Director for New Shepard, a reusable rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line. He has held various engineering leadership roles in the Aerospace industry in North America, Europe and Asia. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a member of the Mechanical Engineering External Advisory Board for the University of Washington. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington. * This seminar is part of the ME Chair's Distinguished Industry Lecture Series. All talks are free and open to public. ME students and alumni are encouraged to attend. |
