Title: Manufacturing Design Engineering Speaker: David Kim, Director of iPhone Manufacturing Design Engineering Abstract: A high level overview of manufacturing process development. Bio: David Kim has been working at Apple for more than 10 years leading Manufacturing Design Engineering teams in developing manufacturing processes for the iPad, ceramic Apple Watch, and, most recently, iPhone 12 / 12 Pro. Prior to Apple, he was the Director of Product Design in charge of mechanical, thermal and packaging at Gateway/Acer. Before that he led thermal design and engineering at Samsung Electronics and led thermal and stress engineering at Boeing Defense and Space Group. David is a husky at heart and graduated with his BSME/MSME from UW. * This seminar is part of the ME Graduate Seminar Series (ME520) and ME Chair's Distinguished Industry Lecture Series. All talks are free and open to public. ME students and alumni are encouraged to attend.
