Description | Dan Costa is recently retired and now Emeritus from EPA having served as the National Program Director (NPD) for the Air Climate & Energy Research Program (ACE) in the Office of Research and Development. He is Adjunct Professor and teaching in the Dept of Env Sci & Eng in the Gillings School of Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill. Dan earned an M.S. and Sc.D. (Doctor of Science) in Physiology / Toxicology from the Harvard School of Public Health. As NPD, his responsibilities included oversight and direction of the entire EPA air quality research program in support of the air regulatory policy development. His personal research interests lies in the area of understanding the physiology underlying cardiopulmonary susceptibility to air pollutants. Dan has over 160 juried journal publications and more than 30 book chapters, editorships, and related reports. |
