RSVP: https://bit.ly/2CopamO IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is one of the largest international professional organizations dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists around the world to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering. We started our official chapter of IEEE Women in Engineering at University of Washington, Seattle last year. With the help of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department and IEEE society, we are hosting our First General Meeting this month. We will meet for a social to get to know our community of women in engineering better. We will have a roundtable discussion about the different challenges Women in Engineering face, benefits of allies and how we could learn from each other to build a positive experience in school and beyond. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the learnings from Grace Hopper Celebration from attendees who received different scholarships. To stay connected with the IEEE Women in Engineering community at UW, use https://bit.ly/2BpRbtL to be a part of our slack channel. This will also help with staying informed about events, scholarship opportunities and the EE community in general. Contact nkalavak@uw.edu with any questions or for additional information about the event or WIE. |
