Speaker: Beatrice Wamuti, MBChB, MBA, MPH, PhD student in Implementation Science Title: SCALE-UP OF HIV ASSISTED PARTNER NOTIFICATION SERVICES (aPNS) IN KENYA: Assessing integration, implementation fidelity and costs associated with HIV aPNS scale-up Over the past seven years, Dr. Beatrice Wamuti has worked in HIV partner services (aPS) to improve case finding, diagnosis and initiation of antiretroviral therapy among sexual partners to newly diagnosed HIV positive individuals in sub-Saharan African countries. She is a senior technical advisor at the aPS PATH scale-up project, collaborative study between the University of Washington, PATH Kenya and the Ministry of Health - Kenya. She is also part of the National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCOP) technical working group on HIV testing services within the Kenyan Ministry of Health, and a visiting research scientist at the Kenyatta National Hospital research and programs department.
Beatrice is passionate about healthcare systems strengthening within low and middle income countries and her research interests are in evidence-based clinical research, implementation science and health systems management. She is a second-year PhD student in Implementation Science at the University of Washington (UW). She also has a medical degree (University of Nairobi), MBA (Strathmore University) and MPH (UW). |
