Description | ABSTRACT: Photonic quantum information system, one of the leading platforms for quantum computation and quantum simulations, critically relies on the effective photon-photon interaction. In the first part of my talk, I will present our proposal and experimental demonstration of manipulating single-photon quantum interference, which is the central operation unit in photonic quantum information processing, by a novel metamaterial. We show the dynamical and continuous control over the effective quantum interaction between single photons beyond their intrinsic bosonic nature, impossible by traditional optics. In the second part of my talk, effective photon-photon interaction is built by the formation of exciton-polariton, i.e., strong-coupling the photon with excitonic materials in the high-quality optical cavity. Specifically, using solution-grown excitonic halide perovskite under nanoconfinement, I will show the quantum simulation of both superfluid phase transitions and XY spin Hamiltonian at room temperature. |
