“Research and Development Across the Space Surveillance Enterprise” This talk will describe some of the challenges facing the space surveillance enterprise and will discuss some of Lincoln Laboratory’s significant research and development efforts over the last six decades to address these challenges. Bio:
Mr. Robert (Bob) Guerriero is the Group Leader of the Information Integration and Decision
Support Group of MIT Lincoln Laboratory. This group is responsible for the development,
integration, and test of innovative Space Domain Awareness tools and capabilities that will
enable timely and confident decision-making in the space domain. While at Lincoln Laboratory,
Mr. Guerriero has also led the Lincoln Space Blue Team, playing a key role in assessing and
developing future space systems and architectures that will continue to ensure U.S. space
superiority. In addition, Mr. Guerriero has served in leadership positions in several Lincoln
Laboratory programs that have successfully developed space-based optical sensors for the Air
Force. Prior to joining Lincoln Laboratory, Mr. Guerriero retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant
Colonel. Serving in the Army as a Space Operations Officer, his assignments included duty at the
National Reconnaissance Office, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces
Strategic Command, the National Security Space Institute, and Multi-National Corps Iraq where
he provide space support to combat operations. Mr. Guerriero holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics from the United States
Military Academy and a Master of Science degree in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. |
