Sustainability Film Series The Combined Fund Drive team is partnering with the Tower Green Team to host a film series on topics of sustainability and features a local environmental nonprofit leading a lively discussion. Popcorn sale – $1 bag – will benefit the featured charity at the event! Free admission and open to all faculty, staff and students, plus a popcorn sale to benefit the featured charity at the event. The first film is Broken Fish and features Puget Soundkeeper and the Suquamish Tribe. This is a short "call-to-action" documentary film educating Seattleites about wild salmon habitat destruction, and how pollutants in Puget Sound impact tribal communities whose livelihoods depend on a healthy wild salmon cycle. The second film is A River Poem, which follows a Puget Sound river from its pristine headwaters to the industrial landscape at its mouth, where it reaches the Sound. At each step, ‘A River Poem’ examines our relationship to the river and what it means for our environment, our community, and ourselves. Join us to view these short thought-provoking movies that highlight the impact of area waterways on our lives. A guest from Puget Soundkeeper Alliance will provide a short presentation and lively discussion after the film. Free admission and open to all faculty, staff and students, plus a popcorn sale benefitting Puget Soundkeeper Alliance. |
