Description | Growing edibles is a delicious and nutritious way to garden, but food crops do need special TLC to thrive. This class will take you through the step-by-step process of choosing the best site for growing your preferred crops, building healthy soil and maintaining its fertility, and selecting seeds and starts that are well-suited for our climate. You’ll also learn how to water wisely, attract beneficial insects and pollinators, plan your annual crop rotation, monitor plant health, and find solutions to common northwest food garden problems without the use of pesticides. Prevention, observation, and patience are keys to success in an edible garden too, whether planning a new food garden or managing an existing one!
