James Buszkiewicz received his doctorate in epidemiology this past June from the University of Washington School of Public Health. His dissertation focused on the differential role minimum wage increases might play in health and health behavior across race/ethnicity and gender. During his time at UW, James worked as a research assistant for the Seattle Obesity and the Seattle Minimum Wage studies. James currently works at the University of Washington as a research scientist where he focuses on the role that social and economic policies can play in addressing health inequities and social determinants of health. The Environmental and Occupational Health Seminar (Env H 580) is a department-sponsored seminar series for students, staff and faculty; practicing professionals in the environmental and occupational health fields; and the public. This seminar highlights the rich diversity of our department and is an opportunity to hear from locally, nationally and internationally known scientists, practitioners and policymakers on issues of current scientific importance. |
