In collaboration with the Seattle Art Museum's "Our Blue Planet: Global Visions of Water" exhibit, Future Rivers and EarthLab at the University of Washington are excited to bring you a transdisciplinary lecture from queer-trans-feminist river scientist and author Cleo Wölfle Hazard. During this hour-long, in-person event, Dr. Wölfle Hazard will read from his new book "Underflows: Queer Trans Ecologies and River Justice," an exploratory dive into the cultures and politics comprising water conflict and restoration in the West through the lens of river sciences, queer and trans theory, and environmental justice. This will be followed by a discussion and audience Q&A facilitated by Max R. Lambert, Ph.D, Aquatic Research Section Manager, Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. Join us as we investigate the human connection to freshwater science and climate sustainability through the powerful connections where art and science converge. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged. Anyone wishing to view the Our Blue Planet Exhibit before or after the event, will need to purchase tickets directly from SAM. |
