Instructors: Faizan Hasham; Elise Wallick The purpose of this training lab is to learn how to create and publish basic intake forms in UW Connect (these forms are also referred to as BSRs or Basic Structured Requests). You will find this training useful if you expect to create multiple forms related to your service or process area. These basic web forms generate a REQ ‘Simple Request’ record routing directly to a specific Assignment Group in UW Connect. The web forms collect structured information to facilitate the fulfillment of requests, where a free-form email to help@uw.edu does not. Each form has a unique url which can be published on any web page, e.g., IT Connect or the UW-IT Service Catalog. By the end of this session, you will have created and tested your own simple intake form in the developer instance of UW Connect. You will learn about the basic features, and how to request the more advanced features. Once the form is in production, you will coordinate its publication and provide ongoing improvements, requesting assistance as needed. Additional info: • Basic JavaScript knowledge helpful, though not required. • In person attendance is recommended. A Zoom option may be offered, although troubleshooting assistance would be limited. • The training room is provisioned with computers; you can also bring your laptop and charger if you prefer.
