| | Description | John Scott, Product Manager for Blackboard Ally, will be guiding participants through Ally, a tool that is now integrated into all Canvas courses at the UW. Ally automatically converts uploaded course files into a variety of alternative formats and provides support to content creators to help them understand how to create and use more accessible course materials. The workshop will begin with a presentation on the learning benefits of alternative formats and universal design for learning (UDL). From there, participants will move into a hands-on component, where they will work in teams through a series of challenges using Ally's Instructor Feedback feature, focusing on how to improve the original document and thereby the alternative formats. |
