| | Description | Students from the School of Public Health will host an important panel discussion on homelesness in Seattle. Guest panelists will share their experience working to address the issue and reflect on how their different skills, perspectives and professions may contribute to an effective, interdisciplinary solution to the problem. Panelists are: - Ted Virdone, policy analyst for Kshama Sawant (Seattle City Council Member)
- Jason McGill, program coordinator at YouthCare
- Tim Harris, founder of Real Change
- Dr. Mary Laya, physician with UW Medicine and University District Street Medicine
- Brad Sims, resident of Tent City 3
- Silver Ly, program coordinator at Teen Feed
An inclusive, civic discussion is needed now more than ever due to the divisive rhetoric that is beginning to surround this issue. |
