| | Description | UW Pathology Presents “Viruses and Gene Therapy" Semih Tareen, PhD Senior Director, Head of Viral Vector Research Sana Biotechnology Why Attend this Seminar? Although gene therapy has been experimentally in the clinic since 1989, only recently have we started seeing it having a broader impact with several approved products. While several methods are available for gene delivery, viruses (or more correctly viral vectors) constitute the most common form of gene delivery. As gene therapy continues to expand to other indications ensuring that these viral vectors are able to cross host-barriers will be key. During the Covid19 pandemic viruses have once again started getting a lot of attention. In this talk we will cover how viruses are used and utilized as viral vectors for the purpose of developing gene and cell therapies for diseases. Meeting ID: 922 0180 0473 Passcode: 520
