Cancer definition and classification is the cornerstone of diagnosis, management, and research. Lymphomas are a collection of large numbers of cancers of the lymphoid cells. Defining, classifying, and subtyping lymphomas is complex and weighs a multitude of factors. The era of genomics has provided enormous opportunities to refine these and make the system relevant for precision and personalized medicine. It has however, also thrown many challenges.
