Description | UW Pathology Presents “Dissecting a post-translational modification code in cardiac reprogramming" Zhong Wang, PhD Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery University of Michigan
Why Attend this Seminar? During development and evolution, cell fate changes are guided by a cell’s ability to change its transcriptional program with posttranslational modifications (PTMs) on both proteins and chromatin. However, few systematic studies have been pursued to define the functional output of PTMs as a coding system. In this seminar, I will discuss how our investigation of cardiac reprogramming uncovers a unique phosphorylation code in 14-3-3 binding motifs (PC14-3-3). Specifically, how and where this PC14-3-3 code is identified, what are the key writer and eraser of the code, and how the code functions to stimulate cardiac reprogramming. We anticipate that this study will provide a framework in decoding PTMs for cell reprogramming and organ regeneration. Meeting ID: 994 1137 3399 Passcode: 5202122 |
