ONR&I is excited to host a Writing Day on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, designed to support scholars working on their next scholarly product—whether that’s a grant proposal, protocol, or manuscript.

This is a writing retreat created to offer protected writing time, foster collaboration, and provide informal support. Participants will have access to experienced colleagues who are available to listen, brainstorm, and help bounce ideas around—no presentations or formal preparation required.

In person attendance is required. Please register.

This event provides an opportunity for PhD in Nursing Science students and de Tornyay Center scholars to showcase their work to the SON community. This annual event highlights student research, evidence‑based practice projects, and community‑engaged work that reflects the school’s commitment to advancing health for all.

Belonging and Healing in Uncertain Times: A Community Care Space

In light of current events—locally and globally—that may be causing stress, fear, grief, or a sense of unsafety for members of our community, the UW School of Nursing DEIB Office is offering a recurring virtual space to pause, ground, and be together.

These community care gatherings will be held every other Friday, beginning Friday, January 23, from 10:00–11:00 AM, via Zoom: https://washington.zoom.us/j/92378211906

This space is not intended to provide solutions or require sharing. Rather, it is a supportive, trauma-informed space focused on presence, reflection, and care. Participants are welcome to join in whatever way feels safest—listening quietly, engaging in gentle grounding practices, or simply being in community. We will also share relevant campus and community resources for those who wish to access additional support.

This space is open to all UW School of Nursing students, staff, and faculty. Cameras may be on or off, participation is always optional, and care for yourself comes first.
