CORE: Compliance Case Studies: Financial Conflicts of Interest, Export Controls and Research Integrity (CORE 2030 Class)

This intermediate case-study based course provides background and context for research compliance operations at the University of Washington. We will present a framework and resources for research administrators who are expected to understand policies and requirements in research integrity, financial conflicts of interest, and export controls

The cases presented assume prior knowledge of concepts related to FCOI, export controls, and research integrity, the basics of which will not be covered in class. Before coming to class review the following resources:

Export Control overview
Office of Research Misconduct Proceedings
Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training

Biomedical Research Integrity Program

If you are an NIH-funded researcher in need of “Responsible Conduct of Research” training, register for the September 10, 2026, session.
