Description | German activists Selma Richter and Johanna Winter from Ende Gelände ("Here and No Further") will share stories about and strategies for successful mass mobilizations for climate justice. Over the last ten years, a strong and diverse radical climate justice movement has been growing in Germany, founded on principles of frontline struggles, mass mobilization, direct action, and cooperation across organizational and tactical differences. Through Ende Gelände’s mass mobilizations for civil disobedience, 6,000 people collectively blocked coal infrastructure and brought global attention to the truth behind the official tale of the German energy transition, “Energiewende,” and the connections between climate chaos and capitalism. At this event, Richter and Winter share ideas and insights about building bridges between international movements for climate justice. |
